Joy Yandell is a home grown California Girl born and raised in San Diego.

"Joy sang before she talked and danced before she walked"- Joy's mother. Growing up in the theater from age five when she did her first play with John Caradine, Joy has danced, sung and acted with many of the greats including Academy Award Winner Linda Hunt, Tom Hatten, Rebecca Luker and Michael Greif.

Joy left San Diego in 1996 to get a second degree in theater from Eastern Oregon University but was brought back to San Diego by the La Jolla Playhouse to teach musical theater during their 1997 hit season which included the West Coast Premires of RENT and Barry Manilow's musical HARMONY.

Joy has been nominated for an Irene Ryan award as well as an Aubrey. Now with a focus on Film and Television, Joy is finding her experience in Maggie & Annie to be "an incredible exploration of my emotions, my thoughts,...hell everything!" Annie has it all in life. A wonderful husband and a darling little girl. All is going well until she goes to a softball practice and meets Maggie. Maggie -- cute, athletic, and openly gay -- touches feeling deep down inside Annie that she has no idea existed. Maggie also is attracted to Annie but vows to her friends that she will not make a move on her because of her wonderful family. As the friendship gets closer and as they struggle to stay apart, all hell breaks loose. A night of dancing and drinking puts Annie in the arms of Maggie. The love affair begins and reaches a point where there may be no way back.
